Rafael Jodar has reached the final four of an ATP Masters 1000 event for the second time in his career. Following his breakthrough semifinal run in Montreal just two months ago—where his journey was halted in straight sets by Brandon Nakashima—the Madrid native now aims to go one step further and secure his maiden Masters 1000 final berth.
The young Spaniard has shown immense grit throughout the tournament, battling through grueling three-set contests in every single round. In the quarterfinals, Jodar rallied from a set down to eliminate Norway's Casper Ruud, building on earlier hard-fought victories against tough opposition including Thiago Tirante, Jiri Lehecka, and Botic van de Zandschulp.
Standing between Jodar and the final is Daniil Medvedev, who presents the ultimate test. The Russian powerhouse has navigated a demanding path of his own, edging out elite contenders such as Stefanos Tsitsipas and Tommy Paul. Medvedev will be keen to recapture the magic of his 2019 Shanghai title run, where he lifted the trophy after defeating Alexander Zverev, and will look to bring his trademark baseline resilience to Saturday's contest.
