Daniels, selected with the second overall pick in April’s draft, will officially be under center for the Commanders’ Week 1 visit to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 8.
The 23-year-old QB is +550 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year, second in the betting behind Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
Last year’s OROY - Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud - was also with the No. 2 pick the draft.
Daniels has impressed in his two preseason appearances so far, posting a combined statline of 12/15 for 123 yards and a rushing touchdown.
