The No. 9 Mississippi Rebels, led by QB Jaxson Dart, are 5-1 and bounced back from their first loss with a dominant win last week, but Dart and Co. face their toughest test in the form of No. 13 LSU in Week 7.
Dart currently leads the SEC in passing yards (2,100), yards per catch (16.5) and passing yards per game (350.0) and he leads all Division I quarterbacks in yards per attempt at 12.1. Plus, the QB has completed 73.4 percent of his passes and has a 13-2 TD-INT ratio.
Dart has been efficient with his throws, as he has attempted 30 or more passes in just two of his six games. He attempted exactly 27 throws in the other four games, and he has thrown multiple TD passes in half his games.
The fourth-year QB was limited to zero TD passes for the first time against South Carolina last week, and the Gamecocks defense also held him to just 14/27 passes completed, although he did throw for 285 yards for an average of 20.3 yards per catch.
Dart has trended downwards slightly since the team started facing SEC competition. He averaged 388.5 passing yards with an 80.4 percent completion rate from Week 1 to Week 4, but that has dipped to a 59.2 percent completion rate with an average of 273 passing yards in the Rebels' last two games.
Despite the No. 13 LSU Tigers being the toughest test of the year for Ole Miss so far, LSU has a middling pass defense.
The Tigers allow 236.4 passing yards per game - the 42nd most in Division I football - and although they only allow one pass TD per game, they allow an average completion percentage of 66.4 percent.
Let's take a look at Dart's odds ahead of a game that will give fans and NFL Draft evaluators a solid look at how the signal caller fares against top-level competition.
