Alimkhanuly was born in Kazakhstan in 1993, quickly taking up boxing at a young age. As an amateur, Alimkhanuly had tremendous success, winning the gold medal at the 2013 World Championships, 2013 Asian Games, and the 2014 Asian Games.
Additionally, Alimkhanuly represented Kazakhstan in the 2016 Olympics, but ended up losing in the quarterfinals of the Middleweight division.
Shortly after his appearance in the Olympics, Alimkhanuly made his professional boxing debut in October of 2016, a fight he won by technical knockout.
He went on to win his next four fights in a row in September of 2017, September of 2018, November of 2018, and February of 2019 before finally earning his first title fight in April of 2019.
This fight was for both the vacant WBC Continental Americas and WBO Global Middleweight title, a fight he won by unanimous decision.
Over his next five fights, he successfully defended one or both of these titles, earning himself yet another title fight in May of 2022. This time Alimkhanuly fought for the vacant WBO Interim Middleweight title, a fight he won by knockout.
Shortly after winning this fight, this title was upgraded to the actual WBO Middleweight title and Alimkhanuly was able to make a successful title defense in November of 2022.
He also defended this title in his next three fights, which includes his most recent fight in October of 2023, where he also won the IBF Middleweight title.

Mikhailovich was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia, but was given up for adoption and was raised in New Zealand.
As an amateur, Mikhailovich was involved in several New Zealand National Championships and even won a title in 2016. It was as an amateur that Mikhailovich also met his current coach, Isaac Peach.
By 2018, Mikhailovich made his professional boxing debut, picking up a win against Rob Ramsey. He went on to win another eight consecutive fights before competing in his first title fight in August of 2019.
It was here that he won the Inaugural Pro-Box NZ Middleweight title by unanimous decision. Following his first title win, Mikhailovich won another title in November of 2020, this time the PBCNZ Light Middleweight title.
After another four wins, Mikhailovich earned another title fight for the vacant IBF Pan-Pacific and WBO Global Middleweight titles. He won this fight as well, beating Ernesto Espana by technical knockout in June of 2022.
As of more recently, Mikhailovich defeated Les Sherrington by technical knockout in April of 2024.
