Quarterback Jameis Winston led the Cleveland Browns to beat the heavily favored Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, and he's back under center for the Week 9 contest against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Winston stepped in for Browns starting QB Deshaun Watson after Watson suffered a ruptured Achilles against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 7. Cleveland went 1-6 with Watson starting and many fans and experts were calling for a QB switch before Watson's injury.
The 2013 Heisman Trophy winner known as "Famous Jameis" has appeared in six games this season, completing 33/53 passes (62.3 percent) for 417 yards and a 4-0 TD-INT ratio. He has a higher passer rating, QBR, and average yards per reception than Watson did this season, albeit Winston has a much smaller sample size.
Against the Ravens' talented defense, Winston completed 27/41 passes for 334 yards and a 3-0 TD-INT ratio.
In Week 9, he'll take on a tough Chargers' defense under head coach Jim Harbaugh and defensive coordinator Jesse Minter which ranks first in points allowed (91), first in first downs allowed (111), fourth in passing touchdowns allowed (six), ninth in passing yards allowed (1,354) and seventh in yards allowed per drive (5.4).
Ahead of his second game in a row against a difficult defense, let's take a look at Winston's player props, odds and lines for the Week 9 game against the Chargers.
