The 2025 NFL Draft's quarterback class is nowhere near the depth and quality of the 2024 edition, making former Alabama Crimson Tide dual-threat QB Jalen Milroe's draft prospects intriguing.
In 2023, his first season as Alabama's starting QB, he completed 65.8 percent of his passes for 2,834 yards and a 23-6 TD-INT ratio in 13 games. He also ran 161 times for 531 yards and 12 TDs, earning himself a sixth-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting and leading his team to the College Football Playoff.
His passing numbers dipped, but his rushing numbers improved in 2024. He completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,844 yards and a 16-11 TD-INT ratio, and he rushed 168 times for 726 yards and 20 TDs. But, his team's 9-3 regular-season record wasn't good enough for a CFP berth.
Ahead of the 2025 draft, in which Milroe's draft position range is still uncertain, let's take a look at his odds.

Over 38.5 | -140 |
Under 38.5 | +110 |
Milroe's current draft position line of 38.5 indicates that he'll be picked early in the second round, where QB-needy teams like the Cleveland Browns (No. 33 overall), New York Giants (No. 34), New Orleans Saints (No. 40), and New York Jets (No. 42) all own picks.
It's also possible that a team trades back into the latter stages of the first half to get their QB, and Milroe could benefit from that. Or, he could fall out of the first two rounds entirely, considering The Athletic gave him a second/third-round grade and Pro Football Focus gave him a third/fourth-round grade.
CLE Browns | +275 |
NY Giants | +500 |
PIT Steelers | +650 |
NO Saints | +700 |
LA Rams | +750 |
NY Jets | +750 |
LV Raiders | +1100 |
SEA Seahawks | +1600 |
IND Colts | +2000 |
The usual suspects — meaning every team that needs a QB immediately or will need one in the next few seasons — are all among the favorites to draft Milroe.
He could enter training camp as the favorite to be the Week 1 starter in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, or New Orleans. Other teams, like the Giants, Jets, and Rams, have more experienced QBs whose presence would allow Milroe to sit for at least a year and learn.

Milroe is not among the favorites to be selected with any of the top 10 picks in the draft. The odds indicate he has an outside chance to be drafted 10th overall, and that pick is owned by the Chicago Bears, who could trade back as they have their QB of the future, Caleb Williams.
Jalen Milroe | +6000 |
Jalen Milroe has some of the longest odds available to be selected in the top 10. Unless a team truly desperate for a QB reaches to take the former 'Bama signal caller, he should be available by the 11th-overall pick at least.
Jalen Milroe | +200 |
A total of 21 players are minus money to be drafted in the first round — not including virtual locks such as Cam Ward or Travis Hunter — and at +200, Milroe is not one of those players.
Another QB whose stock has been up in the air in the lead up to the draft, former Louisville QB Tyler Shough, is close to Milroe in the market at +280. That further shows that it's unknown whether teams will be ready to reach for a QB in the first round.
