Jalen Duren Injury Update and Return Timeline

Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren suffered a hamstring injury against the Miami Heat on October 23rd, and will be out for at least two weeks.

Jalen Duren's injury was immediately concerning when the 22-year-old limped to the locker room in the first half of the Detroit Pistons' 17-point victory against the Heat. Duren did not return, and it was confirmed after the game that he strained his hamstring.

Detroit confirmed that their star center will be reevaluated in two weeks, and will be considered 'out' on the Pistons' official injury report for that duration.

Duren was named to the All-NBA third team last season, averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. He then signed a five-year, $200 million contract earlier this month after prolonged contract talks during the offseason.

In his only full game of the 2026-27 season before the injury, Duren recorded 22 points and nine rebounds in the opening night victory against the Boston Celtics.

Jalen Duren Injury Timeline & Possible Return Date

Duren injured his right hamstring on Friday, October 23rd, which means he is expected to be reevaluated on Friday, November 6th.

The Pistons will be hopeful that their big man does not require any extra rest, and can suit up for their game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, November 8th.

If he is not available for that game, he'll likely be back in the starting lineup for the either of the Pistons' games against the Washington Wizards on November 9th or 12th.
