Jack Hughes: Odds, Lines, Player Props for October 15 game vs. Carolina Hurricanes

The New Jersey Devils are 4-1-0 early in the 2024/25 NHL regular season, but star center Jack Hughes is still without a goal.

Hughes does have three assists in those five games, but as his team's top-line center, he will want to up his production especially now that he is a sixth-year NHLer.

The top pick from 2019 emerged as a goalscorer earlier in his career, getting nearly half his points from goals in each of 2021/22 and 2022/23.

He took a step back in that department in 2023/24, scoring 27 goals with 74 points while his shooting percentage dipped under 10 percent for the first time since 2020/21.

Tuesday night's road game against the Hurricanes provides Hughes and his teammates with a challenge. The 'Canes were one of the best defensive teams last season, and this could be a preview of a playoff series.
