Michael Block set the sports world alight at the 2023 PGA Championship, finishing tied for 15th while providing some memorable moments on and off the course.
Not only was he the only club professional to make the cut, but he was in contention for golf’s second major championship of the year, climbing as high as second place during the second round.
Block was later paired with Rory McIlroy during the final round, when he produced the shot of the tournament. The California club pro sunk a hole-in-one on the 15th hole, the only one of the tournament, and a shot so unbelievable that Block himself didn’t think it went in until the patrons, his caddie, and McIlroy affirmed it did.
A year on from the 47-year-old’s legendary performance, let’s take a look at Block’s prospects heading into the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club.
