The state of Iowa's biggest rivalry game happens in Week 2 of the 2024 College Football season with the Iowa State Cyclones visiting the Iowa Hawkeyes.
While the Hawkeyes finished with a solid 10-4 record that led to a Citrus Bowl berth, the team finished second-to-last among 133 Division I FBS teams in points per game with just 15.4 on average in 2023. The team's highlight reel was filled with punts from punter Tory Taylor, which says plenty about that team's lack of offense.
Luckily for their fans, the 2024 version of the team showed that it can put up points as it won its season opener 40-0 against Illinois State.
The Cyclones went 7-6 last season, and the team has been through plenty of highs and lows throughout head coach Matt Campbell's eight full seasons in charge of the program. Iowa State won its season opener 21-3 over North Dakota.
Iowa State vs. Iowa will be broadcast on CBS, which can be viewed through linear or cable TV and on live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV and FuboTV.
The game will also be available to stream on Paramount+.
Iowa State vs. Iowa is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM ET/2:30 PM CT on Saturday, September 7 with the game taking place at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City, Iowa.
