Inter Miami: 2025 MLS odds, first-choice starting XI, key matches

Inter Miami set an MLS record with 74 points en route to winning the 2024 Supporters' Shield, but they will hope to fare better in the MLS Cup Playoffs this time around in the 2025 season.

Lionel Messi's first full season with the Herons ended in defeat to Atlanta United in the best-of-three first-round series in the playoffs.

Ahead of the 2025 campaign, Miami allowed midfield dynamo David Ruiz to transfer to English side Brighton & Hove Albion for about $15 million, but the franchise brought in young players including Telasco Segovia, Gonzalo Lujan, and Tadeo Allende to fill out the lineup.

Plus, the South Florida-based team hired legendary Argentine defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano as head coach. He spent years playing alongside Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba at Barcelona which should help him acclimate to the new job.

Entering the 2025 campaign, Miami is favored to win the MLS Cup, to reach the Cup Final, and to finish first in the Eastern Conference in the regular season. Two of its players lead the top goalscorer market ahead of the opening weekend, too.
