WBC super lightweight world champion Alberto Puello will defend his title this weekend against mandatory challenger Sandor Martin.
Puello (23-0) won the vacant WBC interim super lightweight title in June 2024 against Gary Antuanne Russell, who will also fight on this card, and now makes his first defense on Saturday night vs. Martin.
Martin (42-3) has no fought since December 2023 and is three fights on from his split decision loss to Teofimo Lopez in December 2022, a bout that was for the WBO international super lightweight titles.
The bout is on the undercard of Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Lamont Roach, a fight that sees Davis defend his WBA lightweight title.
