The Houston Texans' odds to win the 2025 NFL Championship improved after the team acquired 4x Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a 2025 second-round draft pick on Wednesday morning.
Prior to the trade, Houston was +2000 to lift the Lombardi Trophy in 2025. Now, those odds have bumped up to +1600, giving the Texans the eight-shortest odds of any team in the NFL.
In full, the Texans received Diggs, a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round pick, with the Bills getting a 2025 second-round pick via Minnesota.
See below for how the Texans' odds moved following the trade.
Before trade | After trade | |
To Win 2025 NFL Championship | +2000 | +1600 |
To Win AFC | +1100 | +750 |
To Win AFC South Division | +160 | +120 |
To Make Playoffs | -145 | -200 |
Diggs, who enters his 10th NFL season in 2024, will team up with 2023 Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud and a talented wide receiver room including Nico Collins and Tank Dell down in Houston.
Diggs has long been known as one of the NFL's top wide receivers, but his production dipped in 2023, leading many to question his future in Buffalo.
In four seasons with the Bills, Diggs formed an incredible tandem with QB Josh Allen, logging 492 catches for 5,972 yards and 39 touchdowns in 75 total games in the regular season and playoffs. The 30-year-old led the NFL in receptions (127) and receiving yards (1535) in 2020, earning First Team All-Pro honors.
In 2023, Diggs recorded his lowest receiving yards total (1183) with the Bills. In two playoff games, including a Divisional round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, Diggs caught 10 passes for 73 yards and no touchdowns.
