Harden dismisses 'bad teammate' notion

James Harden feels he may be "one of the best teammates that the NBA's seen" after making his Philadelphia 76ers debut on Friday.

Philadelphia are 7/1 to win the NBA Championship outright and star man Joel Embiid is 7/5 to be the regular season MVP, with all the action on the Sports Live Streaming platform.

Deadline deal

Harden joined the Sixers on the trade deadline from Brooklyn Nets, with Ben Simmons moving in the opposite direction, but had to wait for his debut as he arrived with a hamstring injury.

The 2018 MVP made his first appearance for his new team on Friday in a convincing 133-102 win at Minnesota Timberwolves, finishing with 27 points, eight rebounds and a game-high 12 assists.

Embiid led the game in scoring with 34 points as Philadelphia's two stars impressed in their first game together.

Harden dismisses tough teammate talk

Some observers had suggested it may take time for Harden to gel with his new teammates, especially as throughout his career, there has been talk he is a difficult individual to play alongside. However, the 32-year-old guard doesn't think that is the case.

"We're unselfish, we just want to win," said Harden after the win over Minnesota, via the New York Post. "We've got guys, from top to bottom, that it feels that way on the court. Great things are going to happen more times than not. My job is to come in and add to each individual on this team."

"I don't know why," he said when he was asked why he has a reputation as a bad teammate. "That's for the media. The media say that. I feel like I'm one of the best teammates that the NBA's seen, on the court and off the court."
