The PGA Tour season ends as usual with the Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta and, this year, the FedEx Cup winner will pocket a $25 million top prize.
Only the top 30 players in the standings after the BMW Championship will take their spots at East Lake.
The player on top of the standings starts the Tour Championship at 10-under-par, and the event is played under normal scoring conditions from there, with second place starting at eight-under and a descending scale thereon, with those ranked 26th-30th starting at level-par – 10 strokes behind the leader.
The eventual winners of the four FedEx Cups played under this format have all started in the top seven at the Tour Championship.
Viktor Hovland is the defending FedEx Cup champion, the Norwegian having ended the season by winning the last two events, the BMW Championship and the Tour Championship.

In 2024 the Tour Championship winner is set to pocket $25 million, up $7 million on last year's payout.
The 2024 Tour Championship runner-up is set to take home $12.5 million while the player in third spot will bag $7.5 million.

For ties, the players split the sum of the prize money for their finishing position and all subsequent spots that no player finished in. All 30 players that make the Tour Championship at East Lake are guaranteed to earn $500,000.

With only the top 30 players in the FedEx Cup standings making it to East Lake, there is no cut at the Tour Championship, as the entire field contests all four rounds.
