2024 PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele took home $3.33 million.
The winner's prize increased from the previous year, when 2023 champion Brooks Koepka took home $3.15 million.
Bryson DeChambeau finished alone in second at the 2024 PGA Championship, earning $1.99 million.
In 2023, the runner-up prize was $1.89 million, but Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler tied for second and each earned of $1.54 million.

You might be wondering why some players took home less than what they should have for where they finished.
For ties, the players split the sum of the prize money for their finishing position and all subsequent spots where no player finished. So, if three players finish tied for third, they split the sum of the third, fourth and fifth-place prize, hence why their share is less than if they had finished alone in third.
Unlike other tournaments in the professional game, players missing the cut and turning in a 36-hole score will be paid $4,000 each. Any player who made the cut but did not submit a 72-hole score would also be paid $4,000.

The total purse for the 2024 PGA Championship was $18.5 million, a new record for the tournament. The total purse in 2023 was $17.5 million.
