Who will lift the Wanamaker Trophy at Quail Hollow in 2025?
Xander Schauffele won his first major championship at Valhalla in 2024 with a record-setting 21-under par score over four rounds.
Let's take a look at the favorites to win the 2025 PGA Championship.
Scottie Scheffler | +450 |
Rory McIlroy | +800 |
Xander Schauffele | +1200 |
Jon Rahm | +1400 |
Ludvig Aberg | +1600 |
Viktor Hovland | +1800 |
Brooks Koepka | +2000 |
Bryson DeChambeau | +2000 |
Collin Morikawa | +2200 |
The 2025 PGA Championship is some ways away, but it’s never too early to assess the contenders to capture one of golf’s four major championships.
Scottie Scheffler is still the best player in the world despite failing to win at Valhalla Golf Club in 2024, and is a +450 shot to win at Quail Hollow.
Despite Scheffler’s dominance, he has only won one of the four majors, so the American will be eager to add some diversity to his trophy cabinet in the form of the Wanamaker Trophy in 2025.
Rory McIlroy is the only other player shorter than 10/1, as the Northern Irishman continues to long for his first major in over a decade.
Schauffele, looking for a repeat in 2025, comes in as third favorite at +1200. Just two players in the stroke play era (1958-) have won back-to-back PGA Championships – Tiger Woods (twice) and Brooks Koepka.
Koepka, a three-time PGA Championship winner, is +2000 to add what would be his fourth Wanamaker in eight years.
Jon Rahm (+1400), Ludvig Aberg (+1600), and Viktor Hovland (+1800) are the non-Americans with the best chances at Quail Hollow. Of the 106 editions of the PGA Championship, 88 winners have hailed from the United States, with just six coming from Europe.
The last non-American to win the PGA Championship was Jason Day in 2015.
