LIV Golf's third tournament of the year starts on Friday in Hong Kong, and organizers will be hoping for a repeat of the exciting spectacle of 12 months ago.
Mexico's Abraham Ancer came out on top on that occasion, but 14 players ended the three-round tournament within three shots of the lead and this year's gathering looks set to be just as close.
Spain's Jon Rahm heads the market at +600 after tying for second behind Adrian Meronk in the opening event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, while the former Masters champion was sixth at the last tournament held in Adelaide, Australia.
He was tied for eighth at Hong Kong Golf Club last year, while Adelaide victor Joaquin Niemann is next in the prices, having finished fourth in the 2024 tournament where his closing 63 was the best Sunday round.
Players will be presented with a tight layout where accuracy is likely to prove a vital statistic, which will be good news for those not possessing huge power off the tee and representing a change of pace from the types of courses that usually host LIV Golf.
Former Masters champion Patrick Reed has yet to claim a victory on the LIV Golf circuit, but this looks an excellent opportunity for him to get off the mark.
It is only a few months since Reed tasted a triumph in the Hong Kong Open, an Asian Tour event played at this week's venue.
On that occasion, he stormed to a three-shot victory, which included a third-round 59, although it could not be regarded as the course record as it was on a day when preferred lies were in operation.
This week's par-70 course measures just 6,710 yards so there is limited need to blast the ball for miles off the tee and that should play to Reed's advantage.
The quality of his short game could come to the fore and he should not be disregarded on the basis of his finishes of 44th and 37th in his two efforts on the LIV Tour this year.
Other efforts have been encouraging. He played on the DP World Tour at the Dubai Desert Classic, where he was 10th, and at the Ras al Khaimah Championship, where he ended up eighth. We could see a much stronger effort this week at a course the Texan plainly loves.
Ancer had to come through a three-way playoff with Cameron Smith and Paul Casey to win last year when he looked to have thrown his chance away with a two-over-par 72 in the final round, but his ability to stay the course should provide him with plenty of confidence on his return to Hong Kong.
The Mexican consequently looks a good price to post a repeat success, particularly as he heads into the tournament having finished runner-up to Niemann in Adelaide last month.
He had finished 12th the previous week in Jeddah before his Hong Kong win last year, so he arrives into battle this week in even stronger form and this is the sort of challenge that is right up his alley.
His all-around game looks to be in solid order and there is a strong chance that he will make a bold defense of his title.
Another Mexican who has a live chance this week is Carlos Oritz, who was also second to Niemann in Australia last time out.
He could make a big impression again, having allowed the Chilean to slip away in the closing round, and he was just a shot off making the playoff 12 months ago in Hong Kong.
Having come out on top in June's gathering in Houston, Ortiz knows exactly what is required to win at this level.
There looks a strong chance he could make his presence felt after being encouraged by last year's fourth-placed finish.
