LIV Golf Chicago is the penultimate round of the 2024 LIV Golf League, with the field set to gather at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Bolingbrook, Illinois to contest the 13th of 14 events in the regular season.
The individual champion will be crowned after this tournament and Spain's Jon Rahm has a narrow lead in the standings over Joaquin Niemann of Chile, with Tyrrell Hatton and Sergio Garcia currently third and fourth.
The Team Championship at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton, Texas, follows this tournament and that competition could not be closer with Crushers GC leading Legion XIII by just 0.5 points.
Cameron Smith and Bryson DeChambeau have won the previous two LIV Chicago tournaments, although they were held at a different course, while the last three events in the championship have been won by Garcia, Rahm and Brooks Koepka, whose Greenbrier win was his second LIV success of the season.
LIV Golf Chicago starts on Friday, September 13th, 2024.
First round: Friday, September 13th
Second round: Saturday, September 14th
Third round: Sunday, September 15th
The tournament will be played over three days beginning on Friday, September 13th and concluding on Sunday, September 15th.
Each day will feature one round of 18 holes, making for a 54-hole tournament with no cut.
Play on the first two days starts with a 1:15 PM ET shotgun start local time, while the final day begins at 1:05 PM ET.
In the United States, all LIV Golf events are broadcast on the CW Network.
The event is able to be streamed on the LIV Golf Plus App and LIV Golf YouTube channel.
Bolingbrook Golf Club is 30 miles from downtown Chicago and was designed by renowned course architects Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest.
The 7,104-yard course features rolling fairways and elevated greens, set around seven lakes. It features extreme tests of a golfer's skill, with the mammoth 600-yard par-five fifth hole contrasting with the 15th hole, which measures just 127 yards but features a perilous island green.
Both previous LIV Chicago events were held at the Rich Harvest Farms course. Cameron Smith won the 2022 individual event by three shots from Dustin Johnson and Peter Uihlein, while Bryson DeChambeau beat Anirban Lahiri and Marc Leishman by one stroke last year.
The team honors went to 4Aces GC ahead of Smash GC in 2022 and Crushers GC finished three strokes clear of Fireballs GC last year.
