The LIV Golf season resumes with LIV Golf Andalucia, where a host of star names will be hoping to warm up in style for the Open Championship.
The Open at Royal Troon - the final Major of the 2024 - is the week after LIV Golf Andalucia and Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm will be among those using the Spanish event as a chance to fine-tune their game for the more important mission in Scotland.
DeChambeau, who won the US Open in June, is in the form of his life, while Rahm started this LIV Golf season as the regular favorite, but the american has taken over as the top dog on the circuit.
Rahm is still waiting for his first LIV title. The Spaniard has contended in every LIV event, but has faltered at the finish. He blamed an overhead drone for a cardbusting hooked drive into water which derailed his LIV Golf Nashville challenge last time out.
LIV Golf Andalucia starts on Friday, July 12, 2024
First round: Friday, July 12
Second round: Saturday, July 13
Third round: Sunday, July 14
The tournament will start on Friday at 7:15 AM ET (1:15 PM local).
The final round on Sunday will begin at 7:05 AM ET (1:05 PM local).
Valderrama is a legendary golf course and arguably the best in Europe.
It hosted the Volvo Masters on the European Tour from 1988 to 1996, then from 2002 to 2008. It also staged the Ryder Cup in 1997, as well as the WGC-American Express Championship in 1999 and 2000.
There is more recent course form for punters to study. Valderrama hosted the Andalucia Masters in 2010 and 2011, and from 2017 through 2022. The 2016 Spanish Open was another DP World Tour event at this magnificent track.
It was a huge coup for LIV Golf when they managed to get Valderrama for the 2023 LIV Golf Andalucia. Talor Gooch was victorious, landing his third victory of an incredible season.
Gooch will be returning this year to defend his title. He is yet to win a tournament this season.
In the United States, all LIV events are broadcast on the CW Network.
The event is available to be streamed on the LIV Golf Plus App and LIV Golf YouTube.
