Starting pitcher Garrett Crochet was the headliner of one of this offseason's biggest trades, and he makes his debut on Opening Day against the Texas Rangers on Thursday, March 27th.
Crochet was traded from the Chicago White Sox — who won just 41 games in 2024 — to Boston, who are projected to challenge for the American League East Division title.
The 25-year-old lefty posted a 4.1 WAR rating in his first Major League season as a starter, and he ranked seventh in strikeouts with 209 in 146.0 innings pitched. He also posted 1.068 WHIP, an ERA+ of 115, and 6.33 strikeouts per walk.
In the advanced stats, Crochet led all pitchers with a 35.1 strikeout percentage and a 33.1 percent whiff rate while ranking fifth in chase rate at 33.5 percent. Despite his 6-12 win-loss record for the infamously bad 2024 White Sox, he still had 11 quality starts in 32 total starts.
Ahead of his Red Sox debut on Opening Day of the 2025 season, let's look at Crochet's player props, lines and odds.
