The United States takes on a difficult opponent in hosts France to begin the Olympic men's soccer tournament.
France used all three of its over-age player slots for the predominantly under-23 tournament, calling up Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, Sevilla center back Loic Bade, and, to captain the side, Olympique Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette.
The USMNT went defense-first with its over-age players, and coach Marko Mitrovic only called in two. Nashville SC center back Walker Zimmerman and FC Cincinnati center back Miles Robinson will likely partner in central defense and act as the team's experienced leaders.
France vs. United States in the Olympic men's soccer tournament will be broadcast on USA Network, which can be viewed through cable TV packages and live TV streaming apps, and the game will be streamed on Peacock.
France vs. United States is scheduled to kick off at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT on Wednesday, July 24, with the game taking place at Stade Velodrome in Marseille, France.
