Folarin Balogun on the Verge of a Premier League Transfer

Premier League club Everton are in pursuit of United States men's national team star Folarin Balogun after sending Beto to Fiorentina in Italy.

Folarin Balogun, 25, could be one of the final Premier League transfers this Tuesday, and is heavily linked with a move to Everton. The Toffees are in need of another forward to bolster their depth, as Thierno Barry would be the only striker on the roster if Beto's move to Fiorentina does not fall through.

Balogun had his best season to Date in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 13 goals and adding four assists in 30 appearances. He still has two years remaining on current contract, but AS Monaco would rather cash in on the American forward now than be forced to lose him for cheaper next year.

Monaco's chief executive has confirmed speculation around Balogun, stating, "Yes, it is true that discussions are taking place regarding Balogun. That is also why we have already signed [Matthis] Abline. We are ready to maintain the quality of the team if Balogun leaves, but we should know more very soon."

The forward's price has increased in the last year after a fruitful campaign in France, in addition to proving his clinical finishing ability at the 2026 World Cup under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Balogun led the USMNT in goals at the World Cup, scoring three in four starts.

Everton saw their first bid of roughly $19.4 million rejected by Monaco this week, as the Ligue 1 side value him at roughly $50 million. An increased bid could easily see Balogun land in the Premier League ahead of the transfer deadline on Tuesday.

Everton's Other Transfer Business

David Moyes' club have already sent winger Dwight McNeil to Crystal Palace, and are on the verge of losing two more forwards in Beto, and Iliam Ndiaye.

To replace those departures, Everton signed wingers Tyrique George and Brennen Johnson, but has not yet signed a replacement for Beto.

Outside of Balogun, the Toffees have been linked with their former Brazilian forward, Richarlison. Reports have indicated that Richarlison wants out of Spurs, but the personal terms could be a barrier to an reunion with their former striker.
