Premier League club Everton complete their pursuit of United States men's national team star Folarin Balogun, and send Beto to Fiorentina.
Folarin Balogun, 25, has become the latest American to join the Premier League following his official transfer to Everton on Monday.
The Toffees needed to bolster their attacking options, as Thierno Barry remains the only other striker in the squad following Beto's move to Fiorentina.
Balogun enjoyed his most productive season to date in Ligue 1 last term, registering 13 goals and four assists in 30 appearances. His market value has risen over the past year, not only due to a fruitful campaign in France but also his clinical finishing at the 2026 World Cup under manager Mauricio Pochettino, where he led the USMNT with three goals in four starts.
Everton had an initial bid of roughly $19.4 million rejected by Monaco earlier this week, but nearly doubled their offer to secure the American forward for approximately $47.5 million, a fee that could rise to $54 million with add-ons.
Everton's Other Transfer Business
Everton have already offloaded winger Dwight McNeil to Crystal Palace and are set to lose two further forwards in Beto and Iliman Ndiaye.
To compensate for these departures, the club have signed wingers Tyrique George and Brennan Johnson, in addition to Balogun.
The Toffees have also been linked with a move for their former Brazilian forward, Richarlison. Reports indicate that the player is keen to leave Spurs, though personal terms could prove a barrier to a reunion with their former striker.
