Read the latest betting pick, predictions, odds, and player props for Florida Panthers vs. Edmonton Oilers Game 5 in the 2025 Stanley Cup Final, courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.
The Stanley Cup Final is now a best-of-three series after the Edmonton Oilers pulled off an improbable 5-4 come-from-behind win in Game 4 against the Florida Panthers.
Florida skated to an early 3-0 lead by the end of the first period, but Edmonton responded with four unanswered goals before Sam Reinhart knotted the game at 4-4 for the Panthers with just 19 seconds remaining in regulation time. That set the stage for Leon Draisaitl to net his fourth overtime winner of these playoffs to even the series at two games apiece.
Three of the four games in the Stanley Cup Final to this point have required overtime.
With the victory, the Oilers became the first team in Stanley Cup history to win a game when trailing 3-0 after the first period. Teams with that lead were 37-0 prior to Edmonton’s dramatic comeback in Game 4.
Looking ahead to Game 5, there are some interesting player prop trends to consider.
Corey Perry has exceeded his line of 1.5 shots on goal in six straight games, averaging 3.1 per game during that span. He’s seen some time on Edmonton’s top line and top power-play unit in the wake of Zach Hyman’s season-ending injury, and could be a solid bet to beat this line again at -120 odds on Saturday.
Florida’s duo of Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett are both riding five-game point streaks heading into Game 5. Verhaeghe has recorded at least one point in seven of his last nine games, while Bennett has achieved the feat in 15 of his last 20 contests. Verhaeghe is -140 to get a point and Bennett can be had at -150.
From a goaltending perspective, Sergei Bobrovsky has been much busier than expected. He easily cleared his line of 26.5 saves in Game 4, recording 30 stops. He made 42 saves in each of the first two games of this series and 32 in Game 3. His saves line has crept up to 28.5 ahead of Game 5, but there still could be value there at -120 odds against Edmonton’s relentless attack.
