The Edmonton Oilers will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead on Friday night at Rogers Place after scoring a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Leon Draisaitl scored a pair of goals, including the OT winner, to help the Oilers draw first blood in the best-of-seven series. He also shortened his odds to win the Conn Smythe Trophy to +450 from +800 with the two-goal outburst. Draisaitl’s teammate, Connor McDavid, is still the favorite to win the award at -150 odds after notching a pair of assists to add to his league-leading total of 28 points this postseason.

Draisaitl has recorded at least one power-play point in six straight games. He’s +110 to keep that streak alive heading into Game 2.

The Panthers had been 31-0 over the past three postseasons when leading after the first or second period prior to Wednesday’s collapse. They led 3-2 after 40 minutes before giving up two unanswered Edmonton goals.

Another player to keep an eye on from a player props perspective is Panthers center Anton Lundell, who has recorded Over 1.5 shots on goal in five straight playoff games and six of his last seven. He’s centering the team’s second power play unit and playing with Eetu Luostarinen and Brad Marchand on the third line while averaging 3.7 shot attempts per game and 7.43 shots on goal per 60 minutes this postseason.

Teams that have won Game 1 of a best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final have gone on to win the Cup 76.5% of the time (65-20). Edmonton is now a massive -225 favorite to win the series following its Game 1 victory after opening at -120.
