The Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup in dramatic fashion to cap off the 2023/24 NHL season, and they enter 2024/25 as the third favorites to win it again.
Florida trails only the Edmonton Oilers - who the Panthers beat in seven games in last season's Stanley Cup - and the revamped New Jersey Devils in the outright odds entering the season.
The Panthers resigned star forward Sam Reinhart after he posted a career-best 94 points in 2023/24. They also re-signed Anton Lundell and they generally kept the Cup-winning group intact, although Kyle Okposo retired and Oliver Ekman-Larsson signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
With a top line of Carter Verhaeghe, captain Aleksander Barkov and Reinhart plus a second line of Evan Rodrigues, Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk, the Panthers are still loaded and will be motivated to retain their Cup, even after a short offseason due to the deep playoff run.
