"The Spanish Grand Prix will be held at the new Madrid Street Circuit for the first time in 2026, with the race taking place from 11–13 September. While Madrid has previously hosted F1 races at the Jarama Circuit, the city's last race was held over four decades ago in 1981. With the addition of the Madrid Street Circuit to the calendar, the city returns to the F1 schedule.
Where is the Madring?
The new Madrid track is situated in the heart of Spain’s capital. The track winds around the IFEMA Madrid exhibition centre in the north-eastern part of the city, roughly 10 kilometers (~6.2 miles) from the city center.
The layout integrates both public roads and private land, blending a street circuit with a permanent racing facility. It will offer a hybrid feel similar to the Miami International Autodrome, but with a distinct character deeply rooted in the Spanish capital.
Madring Track Guide, Layout and Turns
The new Spanish Grand Prix track is 5.4 kilometers (~3.35 miles) in length and will host a 57-lap race featuring 22 turns.
The Madrid Street Circuit will feature the longest banked corner in Formula 1, which aims to both challenge drivers and become an icon of the F1 World Championship. The curve is aptly named 'La Monumental' and stretches 550 meters (~1800 feet) with roughly a 24% bank. The entire turn will take drivers roughly six seconds to negotiate.
