Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: Picks, Predictions and Odds

The F1 World Drivers' Championship battle may have already been settled, but we head to the final stop on the calendar with the Constructors' title still up for grabs in Abu Dhabi.

McLaren, sitting 21 points ahead of Ferrari in the standings, just need to avoid a disaster around the Yas Marina Circuit, but the Scuderia have taken a chunk of points out of the papaya team’s lead in the last couple of races to keep the title race alive.

It is not just top spot that is up for grabs, either. Alpine, Haas, and RB are still battling it out for sixth, seventh, and eighth and there are bragging rights there for the taking in the World Drivers’ Championship.

Charles Leclerc is only nine points off Lando Norris in the race for the silver medal, Carlos Sainz still has an outside chance of catching Oscar Piastri for fourth and the out-of-sorts Lewis Hamilton is relying on a miracle to avoid losing to his team-mate for just the fourth season in his career.

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix betting picks and predictions

Max Verstappen to win (+255)

The pressure is off Max Verstappen after he secured his fourth straight Drivers' title in Las Vegas, but the Dutchman is a serial winner and was not looking to coast to the end of the season in Qatar.

After being denied a pole position due to a harsh grid penalty, Verstappen swept past George Russell into the first corner and produced another excellent drive to take his ninth race win of the season in Qatar.

After a run of 10 Grands Prix without a victory, Verstappen has now won two of the last three races and has seemingly rediscovered the balance in his previously ailing Red Bull.

The Yas Marina Circuit was the scene of Verstappen’s controversial first Drivers' Championship win and it has proven to be a happy hunting ground for the 27-year-old.

His 18-second win over Leclerc in last year’s instalment was his fourth successive win in Abu Dhabi and he can sign off a rollercoaster of a season with yet another race win.

Charles Leclerc podium finish (-150)

With a big payday for the teams on the line in the World Constructors' Championship, Ferrari and McLaren will be giving it their all in the season finale around the Yas Marina Circuit, and Scuderia frontman Leclerc looks primed for a strong finish.

The Monegasque driver piloted his car to a shock second-place finish in Qatar, despite Ferrari expecting a difficult weekend at the Lusail International Circuit due to the track characteristics.

That was Leclerc’s 12th podium finish of the season and seven of those have come in the last 10 Grands Prix.

The 27-year-old has not finished lower than fifth in these 10 races and team-mate Sainz’s three podiums in the last five races show that the car is in a good place right now.

Leclerc has finished second in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in each of the last two years and still has an outside shot at taking second in the drivers’ standings, so he can end the season on the podium on Sunday.

Pierre Gasly points finish (-138)

Pierre Gasly finished a fantastic fifth in the Qatar Grand Prix last weekend and qualified an even more impressive third in Las Vegas before an engine problem forced him to retire his Alpine.

He can add to his points tally this weekend as he looks to displace Nico Hulkenberg in tenth in the World Drivers' Championship.

Alpine’s recent upgrades have sparked an enormous boost in performance, with a double-podium finish in the soaking-wet Sao Paulo the best moment of the season by far for the French team.

Gasly, who has outscored the outgoing Esteban Ocon by 13 points, has finished in the points in eight of the last 15 Grands Prix he has started and, judging by his recent performances, do not rule out another appearance in the top six if the stars align.
