Esports: Weekly preview - Call of Duty League returns

Last week it was all about the Counter Strike: Global Offensive BLAST Premier Fall Finals.

The major CS:GO event concluded with Danish side Heroic taking the title on home soil, making amends for their defeat in the Grand Final of the recent IEM Rio Major.

And while the dust settles on that tournament, there are a handful of events in the world of CS:GO taking place this week from Germany's ESL Meisterschaft to the Global Offensive Champions Europe, which is into season two and begins with the double-elimination playoffs this week.

At the end of the week, meanwhile, the Call of Duty League returns with the qualifiers for the first Major in Raleigh in the USA.

Monday 28th November

CS:GO: Action in Global Offensive Champions and ESL Meisterschaft

There are a handful of smaller CS:GO events taking place at the start of the week with games in both season two of the European Global Offensive Champions and the German ESL Meisterschaft on Monday.

Sprout, fresh from their fine showing at the Elisa Masters Espoo in Finland, are -250 to beat ALTERNATE aTTax, who are +175 to come out on top in the ESL Meisterschaft clash.

In the Global Offensive Champions, meanwhile, 500, who also looked good in Espoo in Finland, are -300 to beat HONORIS, who are +225 to win.

Tuesday 29th November

CS:GO: Tricked and Websterz involved in Global Offensive Champions

Four more teams get in on the action in the Global Offensive Champions on Tuesday with Tricked taking on Dynamo Eclot and Sangal Esports locking horns with Websterz in the upper bracket of the double-elimination playoffs.

Wednesday 30th November

League of Legends: Double header in Douyu Master Series

For those in need of some League of Legends action, the Douyu Master Series is in action in Wild Rift on Wednesday. Bilibili Gaming are -300 to beat May Gaming, who can be backed at +225 and Li Cheng Lucky are +175 to get the better of -250 shots ShoWTimE.

Thursday 1st December

CS:GO: MASONIC fancied for Esport Tour success

Another of the CS:GO tournaments on the schedule this week is the CS:GO Esport Tour and on Thursday, MASONIC are -138 to beat Into the Beach, who are +100 to win.

Friday 2nd December

Call of Duty League: First Major qualifiers get underway

Friday is a big day in Esports as it marks the beginning of the new Call of Duty League season with the qualifiers for the season's first Major getting underway.

The season's first major begins in Raleigh in the USA on Thursday 15th December with 20 teams involved - the 12 from the qualifiers as well as eight Challenger teams.

There is a prize pool of $500,000 for the first Major with another four Majors to come in the 2022-23 Call of Duty League season.

Four different teams won last year's Major events in the Call of Duty League with OpTic Texas, LA Guerrillas, Seattle Surge and LA Thieves all picking up titles and it was LA Thieves who also went the distance in the end-of-season Call of Duty League Championship.

In the first qualifier on Friday, Boston Breach are +200 to get the better of Atlanta FaZe, who can be backed at -275 to prevail.

OpTic Texas, meanwhile, are -188 to beat +138 shots Minnesota ROKKR, while Las Vegas Legion - formerly Paris Legion - are +163 to defeat -225 shots LA Thieves.

Saturday 3rd December

More teams join in on the action in the Call of Duty League Major One qualifiers on Saturday.

New York Subliners are -200 to win their opener against London Royal Ravens, who are +150, while Toronto Ultra can be backed at -150 to come up trumps against Minnesota ROKKR, who are +110 to win.

Sunday 4th December

Call of Duty League: More Major qualifying action to enjoy

There are yet more Call of Duty League Major One qualifiers taking place on Sunday with OpTic Texas and Florida Mutineers locking horns and LA Thieves taking on Atlanta FaZe in one of the games of the day.

The first round of qualifiers finish on Monday 5th December with the next batch scheduled for Friday 9th December to Monday 12th December.
