VALORANT is about to take center stage in the world of esports this week as the first Masters event of the season gets underway in Thailand.
The VCT Masters Bangkok 2025 will begin at the UOB Live in Bangkok on Thursday with a prize pool of $500,000 on offer along with crucial VCT points.
The highly anticipated S-Tier event will begin with a Swiss Stage system before moving on to double-elimination playoffs.
As it is a Masters event, only the best are involved and there are eight teams ready to do battle in Thailand.
G2 Esports lead the way in the betting at +225, closely followed by Team Vitality at +250 with EDward Gaming next best at +600.
The teams involved qualified for the VCT Masters via their performances in the various kickoff competitions across the globe - the Americas Kickoff, the China Kickoff, the EMEA Kickoff and the Pacific Kickoff.
Performances in those events can give some indication as to which teams are worth monitoring but when the VCT Masters Bangkok begins, bettors should expect the unexpected.
Contrary to that last line, it is hard to look beyond the obvious in the betting for the VALORANT VCT Masters, and G2 Esports represent enough value at +225 in the outright betting.
Looking to secure their first ever international trophy, G2 Esports made a great impression at the VCT 2025: Americas Kickoff, breezing through the upper bracket before a 3-2 win over Sentinels in the Grand Final.
That means they head into this Masters tournament high on confidence and their roster remains enviably strong.
They continue to demonstrate excellent synergy given the lack of roster tweaking in the last couple of years, although the addition of Alexander "Jawgemo" Mor could take them to the next level - more on him shortly.
Team Vitality are close to G2 Esports in the outright betting but the fact they did not even make it out of their group at the VALORANT Champions 2024 may still play on the minds of bettors.
G2 Esports, therefore, look the better option.
For those after a bigger outright pick at the VCT Masters Bangkok, Team Liquid could make an appeal at +1000.
Team Liquid had to play through the lower bracket in the EMEA Kickoff but that meant they got more game time under their belts and they should reflect positively on their runner-up performance.
They even led 2-0 in the final of the EMEA Kickoff before allowing Vitality back into the match and if they tighten up in a few areas, they could go on a run.
The VCT Masters Finals MVP is also an intriguing betting heat and Jawgemo is the value at +900.
Jawgemo has already been tipped for the accolade by his teammate Jacob "Valyn" Batio and, while there is of course bias involved, G2's in-game leader could be on to something.
Jawgemo is widely considered an upgrade on former talent Jacob "icy" Lange and was instrumental in Evil Geniuses winning the VALORANT Champions 2023 title.
That major tournament experience will be key and if G2 Esports go all the way as the odds suggest, the chances of Jawgemo taking the MVP crown should skyrocket.
