This year's Rocket League Championship Series is about to reach its climax, with the World Championship taking place in Texas this week.
With a prize pool of more than $1 million, the S-Tier event will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth and features the best Rocket League teams from across the globe.
There are a total of 16 teams set to compete, and the highly coveted event is split into two phases - the Swiss Stage and the Playoffs.
At the end of the Swiss Stage, eight of the 16 competing sides will progress to the playoffs and compete to be crowned world champions in the RLCS, with the winners set to scoop $300,000 in prize money.
It is also worth noting that the teams which finish between third and fifth in the Swiss Stage will lock horns in a tiebreak to determine their exact seedings.
There are some big names involved such as Team Falcons, G2 Stride and Gen.G, while two sides to keep an eye on are Team Vitality and Team BDS, who met in the RLCS World Championship final in 2023.
On that occasion, Team Vitality came out on top, but it is Team BDS who lead the way in the outright betting at +400 this year, and it should be a seriously competitive tournament.
Although Team BDS have long been considered juggernauts on the Rocket League scene, it is fair to say this season has not been their strongest.
They proved some of their doubters wrong with a significant triumph at the Rocket League Esports World Cup title earlier in the summer, beating Team Falcons in the final to claim the title and $200,000 in prize money.
But up until that point, Team BDS were trophyless in 2024, and despite some decent performances in qualifiers, they finished in the 5th-8th positions at both of this season's majors.
It is fair, therefore, to suggest opposing Team BDS in the betting, and their fiercest opponents, Team Falcons of Saudi Arabia, are worth chancing at +500.
Falcons looked in great shape in the Esports World Cup event, but they also had form on their side before then.
They made a real impression at the RLCS Major Two in London in June, going 3-0 in the Swiss Stage before swatting aside Gen.G and Gentle Mates Alpine in the playoffs.
They lost in the final, but a runner-up finish was still decent, and they could go far this time around.
Another way fans can avoid favorites Team BDS is by backing G2 Stride.
G2 Stride have been arguably the most consistent team on the RCLS circuit this year and are the best bet for punters not won over by the history of Team BDS or the glamour of Team Falcons.
They finished in the 3rd-4th positions at the Esports World Cup event, but that followed a title win at Major Two in London.
Going further back, they were consistently the best team in North American major qualifying after finishing as runners-up at the Major One in Copenhagen back in March.
G2 Stride always seem to be near or at the top in S-Tier competitions and bettors should consider backing them at +600.
Alternatively, they could also give bettors a run for their money to reach the final at a decent +275.
