IEM Dallas 2024: Picks, Predictions and Odds

The next Intel Extreme Masters event on the Counter-Strike 2 circuit heads to Dallas in Texas next week, starting on Monday May 27th with the tournament's group stage.

The IEM Dallas 2024 is the latest S-Tier event in the Esport and will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Texas with 16 teams involved.

And there is plenty at stake in this tournament with the winners not only set to collect $100,000 in prize money and 1,400 BLAST Premier points, but they will also secure automatic qualification for the IEM Cologne in August.

The six ESL partner teams - BIG, Complexity Gaming, FaZe Clan, MOUZ, Natus Vincere and Team Vitality - automatically qualified for the event and are joined by Local Hero Invite side M80 as well as another nine teams determined by either world ranking or qualifier performances.

The IEM Dallas will begin with a double-elimination bracket group stage with the teams split into two groups of eight before three from each section will progress to the playoffs later in the year.

FaZe Clan and Team Spirit are joint favorites in the outright betting at +275 but it is no foregone conclusion that either will take the title.

MOUZ to win IEM Dallas (+500)

There is no doubt who is the form team coming into the IEM Dallas with MOUZ fresh from successive S-Tier title wins.

MOUZ firstly finished as runners-up at the last Intel Extreme Masters event - the IEM Chengdu - in April before going on to win season 19 of the ESL Pro League as well as the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade.

As a result, they have become the number one team in the world of CS2 and they look overpriced at +500 to add the IEM Dallas to their collection.

They have won each of their last 10 matches in all competitions, comfortably beating Team Spirit and HEROIC in the process, and they also chalked up wins against Team Liquid and G2 Esports in Chengdu in April.

They look in a better position than favorites FaZe Clan, who were dumped out of the recent season of the ESL Pro League in the quarter-finals, and MOUZ are the team to pick in the outright betting.

MOUZ to win Group A (+150)

As well as a wager on them to win the outright tournament, MOUZ are also worth backing to win Group A at the IEM Dallas in Texas.

They have shown their quality in the group stages of recent competitions, having won all three of their group games in the recent edition of the ESL Pro League without dropping a map.

They also won both of their group games at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade before winning the title and they know how to get the job done against lesser lights.

Team Vitality are favorites to win Group A at +137 but they were crushed 3-0 by MOUZ in the final of the ESL Pro League season 19 earlier this year, so are not favored in the head-to-head, and MOUZ can come out on top.

FaZe Clan to win Group B (+162)

As for Group B, FaZe Clan look the wise pick to come out on top at +162.

FaZe Clan have enjoyed a pretty decent 2024 with runs to the finals of both the IEM Katowice and CS2 Major Copenhagen before they captured the IEM Chengdu title in April.

They also made the first-fourth positions in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups and are a more consistent outfit than the other sides in their section, such as Team Spirit.

Spirit's game time has been surprisingly limited in 2024, especially given that they skipped their invitation for the ESL Pro League.

They at least turned up at the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade and impressed but FaZe have put together decent performances across a longer period of time this year and at the odds, they are the pick to finish top of the section and progress to the playoffs.
