The S-Tier event is taking place in Shanghai and will move to the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center for the playoffs with eight teams still in contention.
The likes of Team Spirit, FaZe Clan and G2 Esports are set to battle it out for the lion's share of the $1.25 million prize pool and the playoffs are not to be missed.
With the Elimination Stage behind them, the remaining organizations will now compete in a straight knockout format starting with four quarter-finals.
And with big names such as Natus Vincere and BIG failing to even reach this phase of the competition, there could once again be plenty of room for upsets in Shanghai.
Here is a look at some of the best bets and predictions for the quarter-final matches.
Mongolian outfit The MongolZ may not be the first team name that springs to mind when thinking of Counter Strike 2 but they have undoubtedly been the standout side in the CS2 Perfect World Shanghai Major so far.
After a faultless performance in the Opening Stage, The MongolZ also topped the table in the Elimination Stage, having been one of only two sides to post 3-0 win-loss records.
They finished with a modest round differential of +10 but were nonetheless the team to beat and they are worth backing to beat MOUZ.
MOUZ are fifth in the HLTV CS2 rankings - four places higher than their opponents - but The MongolZ have already beaten them in this competition, prevailing 16-13 when the sides met last Thursday.
MOUZ were runners-up at the IEM Rio 2024 in October but underwhelmed in the BLAST Premier World Final and season 20 of the ESL Pro League either side of that tournament and they are worth taking on.
Team Liquid won all three of their matches in the Opening Stage of this tournament but they were matched by Team Liquid in the Elimination Stage with both sides posting 3-1 records.
There was only four rounds between their respective round differentials too and their clash in the quarter-finals of the playoffs could be tight.
Spirit's most recent match in the competition was a 2-1 win over HEROIC and it could again pay to back over 2.5 maps when they take on a Team Liquid side of a similar level.
HEROIC sustained defeats to Team Spirit and The MongolZ in the previous phase of the Perfect World Shanghai Major but they posted three wins to secure their place in the playoffs.
And their most recent win should have done them the world of confidence. Last time out, HEROIC were 2-1 winners against Natus Vincere, who were previously considered one of the fiercest teams in the Esport.
It is fair to say that was a statement win and HEROIC could be overpriced to follow up with victory over G2 Esports in the playoffs.
HEROIC have had plenty of game time in the last few months, making the 3rd-4th positions at the IEM Rio 2024 before a runners-up berth at the Elisa Masters Espoo 2024.
They also finished second in the Thunderpick World Championship 2024 Finals and, even if they are not the most prestigious events going, the run of form is impressive.
G2 Esports have already shown in this event that they are not invincible, going down 13-10 to The MongolZ and they could be worth opposing again.
