There are more qualifiers are on the cards this week as the Counter Strike 2 Perfect World Major in Shanghai fast approaches.
The European RMR A region began its qualifying campaign this week with 16 teams involved, with only seven set to advance to the Perfect World Major main event, which begins at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center in China later this month.
Team Vitality, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, FaZe Clan and Cloud9 have already progressed and the lineup will be completed following Wednesday's matches.
It is then the turn of the CS2 Perfect World Major EU RMR B, which is due to begin on Thursday with a fresh batch of European teams.
Like the previous qualifying event, the EU RMR B tournament will see the top six sides qualifying directly for the Perfect World Major with those in seventh and eighth due to compete in a playoff.
Teams have progressed to this stage through either their position in the Valve Regional Standings or their performances in the Closed Qualifiers A and B.
The EU RMR B also features several big teams on the CS2 circuit, from G2 Esports to Team Spirit to HEROIC, while smaller sides like PARIVISION and Sashi are looking to cause a stir in Shanghai.
Here is a look at how the next European qualifying event could unfold.
The CS2 Perfect World Major EU RMR B has a strong lineup - perhaps stronger than that of the EU RMR A.
G2 Esports, who are -700 to qualify for the CS2 Perfect World Major in Shanghai, won the BLAST Premier World Final earlier this month and were also crowned winners of the BLAST Premier Fall Final in September.
Currently second in the HLTV world CS2 rankings, they are the standout team in this region, while BLAST Premier World Final runners-up Team Spirit should also justify their price of -600 to qualify.
Indeed, punters need to look quite far down the list to find a decent wager and BIG looks like the best value to qualify for the CS2 Perfect World Major at +100.
They reached this stage thanks to their performance in the Closed Qualifier B, in which they finished in the top five with three wins from their four matches.
They are not among the biggest hitters on the CS2 circuit but German side BIG are nonetheless 24th in the HLTV rankings and should be in good spirits after winning season two of the DACH Masters at the start of the month.
Having also finished second in October's ESL Challenger Atlanta 2024, they should go better than the odds suggest in this event.
Although a less enticing price, Astralis are also worth a bet to qualify from the CS2 Perfect World Major EU RMR B.
Astralis ranks inside the top ten in the world for CS2, so making the top seven in this regional division should be well within reach.
They certainly showed their class at the recent BLAST Premier World Final, finishing above MOUZ, FaZe Clan and Natus Vincere in their initial group before a hard-fought 2-1 defeat to Team Spirit in the event's semifinals.
The fact the Danish organization were competitive at that high a level suggests this qualifying tournament, which features lesser sides, should be a walk in the park.
They reached this stage due to their position in the Valve Regional Standings - they were sixth - and they can show their class in Shanghai.
