BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024: Picks, Predictions and Odds

The next big event on the Counter-Strike 2 calendar is the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, which get under way with its first batch of matches on Monday July 29.

The S-Tier event marks a new season for CS2 teams and the top six teams will qualify directly for the BLAST Premier Fall Finals later this year. The remaining teams, meanwhile, will go on to feature in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown.

There are a number of teams to keep an eye on in the event in Copenhagen from a powerful Team Vitality unit to improving Team Liquid and here is a look at which teams could come out on top in the first set of matches taking place next week.

Complexity to beat HEROIC (-138)

Group A looks pretty open at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups and, after Team Spirit clash with OG, Complexity will take on HEROIC.

Complexity are -138 favorites to edge this and there could be value in those odds.

There is not a lot between these sides as far as the HLTV World CS2 rankings are concerned with HEROIC in 10th spot and Complexity in ninth.

But HEROIC have struggled to impose themselves on both the IEM Dallas and YaLLa Compass 2024 in recent months and look unlikely to upset the odds.

Complexity have not exactly been barnstorming and were underwhelming in the Esports World Cup, although they won an ESL Challenger event in Jonkoping in June and placed in the 3rd-4th positions in season 19 of the ESL Pro League earlier this season.

They beat HEROIC 2-1 en route to that finish back in May and look a solid pick to win their first match of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

Astralis -1.5 Spread vs. Team Falcons (+150)

Resurgent Astralis are one of the in-form teams on the CS2 circuit at the moment and they are favored to see off Team Falcons.

Prior to the recent BLAST Premier Spring Finals, Danish side Astralis had reeled off four successive top-four finishes at the IEM Chengdu, ESL Pro League Season 19, CCT Global Finals and YaLLa Compass 2024.

They have won four of their last seven contests in all competitions, including a 2-0 win over SAW in the BLAST Premier Spring Finals in June, and they are strong and worthy favorites.

So to squeeze a bit more value out of the contest, bettors should consider backing Astralis at -1.5 on the spread at +150.

Team Falcons can be a handful and were runners-up at the ESL Challenger Jonkoping in June, but they are down in 13th spot in the HLTV World CS2 rankings and were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Complexity in their most recent match.

Team Liquid to beat Virtus.Pro (+125)

Natus Vincere, otherwise known as NAVI, are the big guns in Group D of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, but Team Liquid could also be in for a decent tournament.

Liquid are among the teams to have tweaked their roster coming into the BLAST Premier Fall season and the recent arrival of Australian Esports star Justin 'jks' Savage is a big statement.

Savage is one of the biggest players in the world of CS2 with experience of playing for the likes of 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan. His inclusion could help them get over the line against Virtus.Pro.

Team Liquid are 16th in the HLTV world CS2 rankings but this is a new-look side. Even with a weaker group, they finished second at the CCT Global Finals back in May.

Virtus.Pro have enjoyed some decent performances at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals and the Esports World Cup but were not exactly excelling beforehand, having been patchy in the Dacha Belgrade and IEM Dallas.

They edged it 2-1 when these teams last met back in September 2023 but a lot has changed since then and Team Liquid seem to be underestimated at +125 in the betting.
