Emma Navarro has had a breakout tournament in the 2024 US Open as she will play in her first major semifinal, but she faces one of the hardest possible challenges at that stage in the form of World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka.
Navarro is the fourth-highest ranked American player on the WTA Tour rankings, sitting 12th. Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula and Danielle Collins are the three Americans ahead of her in the rankings, and Pegula and Navarro are the last women representing the Stars and Stripes remaining in the tournament.
The 23-year-old born in New York City picked up a huge win over World No. 3 Gauff in the round of 16, and she beat Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals. Sabalenka has picked up wins over Elise Mertens and Qinwen Zheng to get to this point.
Emma Navarro vs. Aryna Sabalenka will be broadcast on ESPN, which can be viewed with cable TV and on live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV and FuboTV. The match will also be available to stream on ESPN+.
Emma Navarro vs. Aryna Sabalenka is scheduled to start at 7 PM ET on Thursday, September 5 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York.
