Read the latest betting picks and predictions for tonight's matchup between the Edmonton Oilers (33-16-4) and Chicago Blackhawks (16-31-5), courtesy of our friends at Daily Faceoff.
Although Tuesday’s game between the Edmonton Oilers and St. Louis Blues required overtime, the Oilers dominated. According to Evolving Hockey, Edmonton controlled nearly 71 percent of the expected goals and 65 percent of the shots, outshooting the Blues 38-22.
Goaltender Jordan Binnington played well for St. Louis, and as a result, all three Oilers goals came on the power play, with the net empty, and during three-on-three overtime.
Both Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid had multi-point performances, with Draisaitl recording a goal and an assist, while McDavid led the way with a goal and two assists. Draisaitl had another strong game in terms of shots on goal, hitting the over on his shots prop within just one period.
The 29-year-old registered eight shots in the game and has totaled 24 shots over his last three games. He’ll need four shots on goal to go over his total on Wednesday against Chicago, a reasonable ask considering he has done so in 10 of his last 20 games.
Chicago ranks 30th in shots against, 28th in expected goals against, and 30th in goals against this season. As a result, not only should Draisaitl have plenty of opportunities to shoot and score, but former Blackhawks forward Corey Perry should be in the mix as well. Perry has made the most of his promotion to the Oilers’ top line, scoring one goal on seven shots in two games alongside McDavid and Draisaitl.
