College basketball’s biggest rivalry will be renewed when No. 2 Duke faces off against No. 3 North Carolina in the women’s Sweet 16 on Friday afternoon.
Both programs are seeking their first Elite 8 appearance in more than a decade.
The Blue Devils took care of business in Durham, defeating No. 15 Lehigh and No. 10 Oregon to reach the last 16. UNC earned two double-digit wins over No. 14 Oregon State and No. 6 West Virginia to set up this classic rivalry matchup.
The ACC foes split their season series in 2024/25, each winning the game played on their home court. North Carolina needed overtime to defeat Duke 53-46 on January 9 in Chapel Hill.
