The No. 3 Penn State Nittany Lions have not won the Big Ten Championship since 2016, and the team will look to QB Drew Allar to lead the program back to the top when they take on undefeated No. 1 Oregon in Indianapolis this weekend.
Both Penn State and Oregon have played No. 6 Ohio State this season. Oregon beat them by one point, while Penn State lost by a touchdown for their lone defeat of the season.
The Ohio State game was one of Penn State's two matchups against ranked opponents in the regular season. They beat then-No. 19 Illinois by 14 in late September.
Aside from the fact they played a relatively weak schedule compared to the other likely College Football Playoff teams, the Nittany Lions showed both an ability to dominate and that they can win close games.
Penn State beat major-conference opponents West Virginia, Illinois, UCLA, Wisconsin, Washington, Purdue and Maryland by double digits, and they won by a field goal or less against USC and Minnesota.
Also, the Nittany Lions offense peaked late in the season, reaching 35 points or more in three of their last four games. Allar threw for at least 220 yards in three of those four games.
While Allar has shown greater arm strength this season than he did last season, the team tends to rely on running back duo Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton to reach the end zone. Allar has thrown for multiple touchdowns just five times in 12 games this season.
Ahead of the biggest game of Allar's career against an Oregon team that ranks among the best 15 defenses in completion percentage and passing yards allowed, let's take a look at the Penn State QB's player props, lines and odds for the Big Ten Title game.
