Michigan running back Donovan Edwards entered the season with plenty of hype, but he has not quite hit the expected heights as his team sits with a 3-1 record ahead of its Week 5 game against Minnesota.
Through four games, Edwards - one of the cover athletes of the video game College Football 25 - has carried the ball 50 times for 224 yards and two TDs, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
Those numbers are decent, but fellow Michigan Wolverines RB Kalel Mullings has 53 carries for 429 yards - 8.1 yards per carry - and four scores.
Edwards was expected to be the lead back after Blake Corum left for the NFL following last season's National Championship win, but fifth-year player Mullings, who came to Michigan as a linebacker and switched to RB halfway through the 2022 season, has been better thus far.
Both backs will be challenged this weekend. Out of the 134 Division I football teams, Illinois' run defense ranks 46th with 3.4 yards allowed per carry, and the unit allows the 35th-fewest rushing yards per game with 104.3.
Let's take a look at Edwards' player props, lines and odds for this weekend's game against Minnesota, where he'll look to put in a statement performance.
