2x Pro Bowl wide receiver DK Metcalf could be on the move this offseason after requesting a trade from the Seattle Seahawks.
Metcalf is the latest star wide receiver on the hunt for a new team this offseason, joining Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp and Deebo Samuel, as the 27-year-old seeks a new home and contract extension.
There is no doubt that championship-contending teams will be hoping to land Metcalf, who will slot in as the No. 1 option on most any NFL offense.
The 2019 second round pick has logged 6,324 receiving yards and 48 touchdowns in six NFL seasons in Seattle, but regressed slightly in 2024 as the Seahawks missed out on the playoffs for the second-straight year.
Here we take a look at the favorites to land the star wide receiver.
SEA Seahawks | +275 |
LA Chargers | +375 |
NE Patriots | +550 |
LV Raiders | +600 |
PIT Steelers | +800 |
DEN Broncos | +1200 |
JAX Jaguars | +1200 |
NY Giants | +1200 |
CHI Bears | +1400 |
GB Packers | +1800 |
At +275, the Seattle Seahawks are the favorites to retain Metcalf, despite the player requesting a trade away from the team.
Metcalf has one year remaining on his 3-year, $72 million contract, so Seattle has the ability to keep him on the roster for 2025 if they are unable to find a trade suitor, although the star WR would then become a free agent next offseason.
The Los Angeles Chargers (+375) are second-favorite to land Metcalf, with Jim Harbaugh’s team in need of a bonafide top receiver after a 2024 campaign in which they relied heavily on rookie WR Ladd McConkey.
The New England Patriots (+550) and Las Vegas Raiders (+600) are considered potential suitors for Metcalf, too, with both teams looking to emerge from the bottom of their respective divisions and compete deep into 2025.
The Patriots, Chargers and Raiders lead the list of NFL teams with the most cap room in 2025, so they are most likely to be able to offer Metcalf a lucrative contract.
The Steelers (+800) are the only other team shorter than 10/1 and have the 7th-most cap space in 2025.
Between +1200 and +2000 are the Broncos, Jaguars, Giants, Bears, Packers, Cowboys and Texans.
