Oregon Ducks quarterback Dillon Gabriel led his team to a 32-31 win over Ohio State, and he is the new second-favorite to win the Heisman Trophy as a result.
Gabriel is now +350 to win the award, and he only trails Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty (+150) in the market.
The sixth-year QB entered the season as the +700 Heisman favorite, but he entered this week outside the top four in the odds with Jeanty, Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter, and Alabama QB Jalen Milroe ahead of him.
Against the then-No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes, Gabriel completed 23/34 passes for 341 yards, and two passing touchdowns while rushing four times for 32 yards and a score.
Thanks to the quality win over a Big Ten rival, the Ducks are now second in the AP Poll. So far this season, Gabriel has completed 76.1 percent of his passes for 1,790 yards and a 13-3 TD-INT ratio while averaging a conference-best 298.3 pass yards per game.
The game against Ohio State was the toughest on Oregon's schedule, but the Ducks face two ranked teams within their next three games. A visit to unranked Purdue is next before a home game against No. 22 Illinois and No. 24 Michigan.
With an undefeated 6-0 record and the toughest week of the schedule completed, Gabriel and the Ducks will feel confident heading in to conference championship and College Football Playoff season.
