Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves: 2024 NBA Playoffs second-round series odds

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves will meet in the second round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs for a matchup between two teams that were among the league's best in the regular season.

The third-seeded T-Wolves swept the Phoenix Suns and the second-seeded Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers in five games to advance to the Western Conference Semifinals.

Minnesota and Denver split their season series 2-2, with each team winning once at home and once on the road. Three of those games were played while T-Wolves star Karl-Anthony Towns was injured, and the Nuggets went 2-1 in those games.

The teams went Over the Total Points line in three of their four games, and Minnesota covered the spread in three of the contests.

As of the week leading up to Game 1 of this series, the T-Wolves are uncertain as to whether coach Chris Finch will be on the sideline after he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon as a result of colliding with Mike Conley in Game 4 of the team's series with the Suns.

Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves playoff history

The Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves have met twice in the playoffs in series that took place 19 years apart. The teams are 5-5 in those meetings, with each team winning one series 4-1.

The teams first met in the first round of the 2004 NBA Playoffs. This series kick-started the T-Wolves' run to the Western Conference Finals, the team's deepest playoff run in franchise history.

Minnesota was led by Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell, and they won 4-1 over a Nuggets team with Carmelo Anthony, Marcus Camby and Andre Miller.

The most recent time the teams met was in the first round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs, and the Nuggets won the series 4-1 en route to winning the first NBA Championship in franchise history.

The teams have mostly remained the same this season. The Nuggets starting five is the same, but Minnesota has a healthy Jaden McDaniels after he missed last year's postseason due to a broken hand he sustained from punching a wall at his team's stadium.
