Deion Sanders NFL Head Coaching Odds: +120 to get Cowboys job

Colorado Buffaloes head football coach Deion Sanders silenced the doubters by leading his team to a 9-4 record in 2024 after the team went 4-8 in his debut season, and as a result, he has been linked to NFL coaching jobs.

Here, we have the latest odds for Sanders to become the head coach of an NFL franchise ahead of the 2025 regular season.

Deion Sanders NFL Head Coaching Odds

Dallas Cowboys

+120

Las Vegas Raiders

+1200

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Sanders has had conversations with Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, and he is the +120 favorite to get the job, which is slightly shorter than his +150 odds when the market opened.

Sanders played five years with the Cowboys, winning a championship and earning three first-team All-Pro honors and four Pro Bowl appearances in his time there.

After speaking with Jones, Sanders said "To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it's intriguing... I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up, process it, and think about it, it's intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body and the community."

Sanders, nicknamed 'Coach Prime', never played for the Las Vegas Raiders, but given the fact he has plenty of star power, he could be a fit in Vegas. At +1200, he has the joint-sixth-shortest odds for the job.

Vegas also needs a QB, and Sanders' son, former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders, is projected to be a high draft pick. Coach Prime has indicated that he may influence where his son gets drafted, and if Deion takes the Raiders job, he might try and get Shedeur to be the franchise QB.

One thing to note about Sanders, despite the headlines he made from telling Colorado players to get ready to hit the transfer portal in his first team meeting at the program, is that he built a good team in a power conference and surrounded himself with plenty of experience.

Sanders had former NFL head coach Pat Shurmur as his offensive coordinator, former NFL offensive tackle Phil Loadholt as offensive line coach, NFL Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp as a defensive quality control coach, and former Cincinnati Bengals defensive backs coach Robert Livingston as defensive coordinator.

NFL owners and GMs will appreciate that he built a talented team and coaching staff amid a competitive College Football landscape, which made a difference in Colorado's 2024 season.
