DeAndre Hopkins: Player Props, Odds, Lines for Week 8 vs. Raiders

The Kansas City Chiefs have boosted their offense by acquiring wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans, and the five-time Pro Bowler has a chance to make an immediate impact in Week 8.

Hopkins' best years were between 2014 and 2020, as he posted four 100-reception seasons and six 1,000-yard seasons in that span. While he's now 32 and likely past his prime, he did catch 75 passes for 1,057 yards and seven TDs with the Titans last season.

One thing that will benefit Hopkins in KC is that, while the team doesn't have a clear-cut No. 1 receiver, there are plenty of options for Patrick Mahomes to get the ball to. What Mahomes and company will want from Hopkins is the consistency and route-running that has seen him honored as a first-team All-Pro three times.

The Chiefs have a deep receiving and tight end corps when everyone is healthy, but the offense has not fired on all cylinders in 2024. Mahomes has completed a career-high percentage of his passes (67.9), but he has a 6-8 TD-INT ratio and is averaging a career-low 6.14 yards per pass attempt.

Hopkins and his new teammates will be challenged this weekend since the Las Vegas Raiders pass defense has played well so far. While the Raiders' offense won't pose much of a threat to KC's top-tier defense, the Vegas defensive unit has allowed the eighth-fewest pass yards per game (180.1).

That said, Vegas allows the fourth-most points per game (26.1), so there should be openings for a QB-WR pair as talented as Mahomes and D-Hop. That will be the case especially if Kansas City can establish the run since the Raiders allow the 10th-most yards per game on the ground.
