Manly captain Daly Cherry-Evans says the season may be over for the injured Tom Trbojevic but that does not mean the same applies to the Sea Eagles.
Manly are priced at 33/1 to win the 2022 NRL grand final but without their gun fullback Trbojevic many people suggest they will not get anywhere near and making finals will be the best they can hope for.
Cherry-Evans accepts that the loss of Trbojevic to a serious shoulder injury is a huge setback, but it does not mean their season will be derailed.
The skipper has every faith in the players in the squad, including Reuben Garrick who will take over the No. 1 jersey. He also says the most experienced ones can step up.

Bulldogs ace hoping to keep Origin spot
“It’s understandable that people have an opinion on rugby league and agendas get driven that Manly can’t win without Tom, but the most important opinions are the ones inside our four walls,” Cherry-Evans said.
“Our coaching staff haven’t lost hope and our players certainly haven’t lost hope and we’re excited for Reuben to get into that role and myself and Foz [Kieran Foran] have spoken and we’re excited about the more hands-on role we can take.”
Meanwhile Foran is backing his good mate to come through the experience even stronger than before.
“He’s a phenomenal athlete, Tommy, and he works extremely and he’ll come out the other side stronger,” Foran added. “Tommy is such a mentally strong individual I know he’ll be able to bounce back. He’s already come back from so much.”
