Esports: CS:GO Brazy Party Sunday preview

Attention will soon be on the BLAST Premier Spring Finals and the inaugural edition of the Paris Major but for now it is all about the Brazy Party in the realm of Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Attention will soon be on the BLAST Premier Spring Finals and the inaugural edition of the Paris Major but for now it is all about the Brazy Party in the realm of Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Having begun with 16 participating teams, the A-Tier event takes place across Europe and runs until Wednesday.

It began with a double-elimination group stage with four groups of four teams and will soon move on to the playoffs, which are in a single-elimination format and begin with the quarter-finals.

As it stands, one team has progressed and one has been eliminated from each of the four groups and the final playoff spots in each section will be determined by decider matches between the two teams on 1-1 records.

In the latter stages of Sunday's action, ENCE will take on Astralis in the decider match in Group C while in Group D the decider match is between 9INE and Sprout.

The final eight will then be set to battle it out in the playoffs with $333,000 of prize money up for grabs. The champions will themselves claim $133,000.

Things have not gone according to plan for ENCE or Astralis in Group C at the CS:GO Brazy Party with both sides having slipped to unexpected defeats to SAW, who topped the group with a 2-0 record.

Both also managed to get the better of GamerLegion, hence their 1-1 records and qualification for the decider match, and punters may not want to rush to back either side.

ENCE are ranked ninth in the HLTV world rankings and finished in the 3rd-4th positions at the ESL Pro League Season 17 only last month, so they are one of the bigger hitters at this event.

But they were not exactly flawless against GamerLegion, dropping a map against them, and they were outplayed in stages of their clash with SAW, going down 16-6 on second map Nuke.

That has to be cause for concern but Astralis have also not been at their best, losing 2-1 to SAW last time out, and they are lacking when it comes to big-tournament experience recently.

Ultimately with neither side making much appeal in the match result markets, punters should back this one to go over 2.5 maps at -120.

Another way to bet on it could be to back the total rounds to go over 67.5 at -110.

Group D at the CS:GO Brazy Party played out as expected with Cloud9 taking the initiative to finish top and Imperial Esports finishing bottom of the section, leaving 9INE and Sprout to battle it out for the remaining playoff berth.

9INE ran out 2-0 winners over Imperial in their Group D opener and they managed to push Cloud9 close in the winners match, winning the first map Vertigo 16-9 and taking the final map Overpass to overtime, ultimately losing 22-20.

They have a bit more experience under their belts than Sprout, having featured at the IEM Rio earlier in April, having made it to the lower-bracket semi-finals of their group, and they also came out on top at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 Europe RMR B.

As for Sprout, they have featured in smaller competitions, placing in the 1st-4th positions at the ESL Challenger League Season 44 Europe Relegation last month, and are in 49th spot in the HLTV world rankings.

They are a cut below their opponents and to squeeze a bit more value out of a 9INE win, punters should back the Polish side to beat Sprout 2-0 at +120.

Alternatively, those anticipating a comfortable victory for 9INE in this contest may also want to consider a bet on under 63.5 rounds at -125.
