German veteran Christian "crisby" Schmitt has been tasked with putting together and heading OG's Academy Team.
In-mid February, OG announced its plan to put together an academy roster, sharing their aim to ensure long-term success and stability for their CS:GO division. They started an application process for the project's leader and line-up at that time.
Two and a half months later, the organization has now revealed the head coach of the junior squad.
It is none other than 30-year-old veteran "crisby", who has been tasked with compiling the line-up from over 50 candidates, who will undergo trials in the coming weeks.
The German is perhaps best known for his numerous stints with ALTERNATE aTTaX spanning a decade and three different versions of the game.
Or more recently his time spent playing for Unicorns of Love. Crisby had a connection to OG's assistant coach, Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk, who stood behind the UoL for over a year in 2020-2021.

Following a long-playing career, crisby recently transitioned into coaching with North American squad Strife. A team he spent four months with, before departing to begin his move to OG.
The announcement of a new academy coach comes at a time when OG's main team's results have dramatically worsened when compared to their successful debut at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups following the switch of Aleksi "Aleksib" Virolainen for Nemanja "nexa" Isakovic.
After a rough Spring for OG including a failure to qualify for PGL Major Antwerp, hopefully things will be looking up for one of the more premier organizations in CS:GO. As they enter new territory with this Academy team.
