Previewing Columbus Crew vs. CF Montreal in MLS, including betting odds and odds on Alexis Sanchez to score and assist in his debut.
Alexis Sanchez is expected to make his MLS debut on Wednesday, after the 37-year-old Chilean legend signed for CF Montreal last week. Sanchez joins an extremely young Montreal team spearheaded by the prolific Prince Owusu, who has scored 11 goals and added six assists in 18 matches this season.
CF Montreal needs some much needed fire power and experience in the team since they currently sit 14th our of 15 in the Eastern Conference, and Alexis Sanchez can provide both.
Montreal travel to Ohio to take the Columbus Crew (11th in Eastern Conference) who have been deconstructed during the summer transfer window. Columbus sent USMNT winger Max Arfsten to Middlesbrough, and saw Diego Rossi join Monterrey in LIGA MX. Columbus is also without Wessam Abou Ali, who is out for an extended period of time with an ACL and meniscus injury.
The Crew are now led by 30-year-old MLS veteran Daniel Gazdag, and 20-year-old American Taha Habroune.
Historical stats are on the Crew's side in this matchup, since Columbus have won 12 of the last 18 home matches against Montreal. Montreal also have the worst away record in MLS this season, picking up just four points and conceding 25 goals in nine road games.
The Columbus Crew hill host CF Montreal at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field on Wednesday, August 19.
Kickoff is scheduled 7:30 PM EST / 6:30 PM CST (Local).
